WILD WORDS FOR GRIEF

 Writing & Mindfulness 

 
WILD WORDS FOR GRIEF is a workshop series that offers simple and practical ways of blending journal writing and mindfulness to honour your unique journey of grief. You will discover tools to validate and express thoughts and feelings, while gently orienting toward that which is nourishing and supportive.

This course will empower grievers through agency, self-compassion, and personal expression. Sessions include grief-sensitive meditations, writing prompts and weekly invitations to develop your own practice. We will also explore some unhelpful misconceptions about grief; along with the latest info that supports the needs of those living with loss.

Use mindful journal writing to:

  • Witness and express your unique grief story.
  • Honour your wholeness; even when feeling broken.
  • Experience the restorative nature of creativity & imagery.
  • Connect with your intuition and inner wisdom.

This course will help you:

  • Identify challenges, needs, and sources of support.
  • Notice how you are already showing up for yourself.
  • Attune to the nourishing aspects of the everyday.
  • Allow yourself to grieve in your own way, in your own time.

Open to adults who are bereaved. No previous writing or mindfulness experience required.

NOTE: This is not a therapy group. While some may find it helpful, you don’t need to write about your loss directly to benefit from this course. Sharing is limited & optional.

GRIEF-SENSITIVE MINDFULNESS

 Practices for Loss 


GRIEF-SENSITIVE MINDFULNESS is a unique program that validates the needs of grievers through adaptive practices for loss. This workshop series provides practical ways to use mindfulness to support yourself as you navigate the complex journey of grief. 

Sessions include grief-sensitive meditations and simple strategies to help you develop your own practice. We will also explore some pitfalls that traditional mindfulness may present for grievers – along with some grief-specific benefits. The focus is on creating a practice that is safe, gentle, realistic and empowering.

This course will help you:

  • Understand the challenges grief may present in working with thoughts, emotions & physical sensations.
  • Relate to your grief experience with curiosity & compassion.
  • Use mindful awareness to connect with what is naturally stable & nourishing.  

Grief-Sensitive Mindfulness:

  • Prioritizes self-compassion and the power of choice.
  • Normalizes and validates natural responses to loss.
  • Acknowledges that grief can be exacerbated by unhelpful expectations and inadequate supports.

Open to adults who are bereaved. No previous mindfulness experience required.

NOTE: While this is an opportunity to practice with others who are grieving - this is not a therapy group. Sharing is limited & optional.

Mindful Journal Writing


WILD WORDS is a 4-part journal writing adventure that will ignite the spark of potential within you. This course will empower you to explore your untold stories in collaboration with the natural forces of creation.

Mindful journal writing promotes agency, insight and expression. When we bring a gentle curiosity to our thoughts, feelings and words, we learn that it's okay to show up just as we are. A Wild Words writing practice creates space to explore the natural beauty & rich complexity of our emerging human stories.

Sessions include guided meditations, writing prompts and weekly invitations guaranteed to get the words flowing. Whether you're writing for wellness, creativity or personal growth, you will gain valuable tools to develop an ongoing writing practice, faith in your ability to write, and the inspiration to keep going!

This course will help you:

  • Strengthen & enhance your mindfulness practice.
